A trip to feed the ducks- how The Cosy Explorer came to be
Hi, I'm Beth. I'm the founder of The Cosy Explorer. I thought I'd write a little blog post to explain my journey that lead me to start this brand. So grab a cuppa and enjoy.
Whilst on maternity leave with my second baby, I was getting my toddler, Olivia, ready for a little trip to feed the ducks. I soon realised that she had outgrown all of her outdoor wear (why do toddlers grow so fast?!). That night during my baby's night feeds, I decided to online shop to buy her some wellies, warm jumpers and a new coat. I really needed a one-stop-shop where I could buy all that I needed, whilst having items that were high-quality and not...well ugly.
I wanted neutral colours that I could also pass down to my baby, Finlay, when he grows into a toddler so they needed to last. Anyway, I started to become so frustrated when I couldn't find what I was looking for. That's when I had the idea of starting my own brand that focused on children's outdoor wear.
When picking the items that I wanted to include in my brand, I thought back to my time (over 15 years!) working in nurseries and what children needed during their outdoor play and time at the Forest School. This helped me to carefully pick the items and build my brand.
This has become my passion and I will continue to work relentlessly to provide a space for parents, grandparents, friends and everyone in between to buy the best items possible.
